Moving to Portland is about laying the foundation to the life you want to live.
This is a place for good folks who work hard so they can enjoy the people & places they’ve surrounded themselves with.
When I transplanted to Portland in 2000 the jokes about hipsters moving there to retire was still a long way off. For me the draw was in getting away from the small town life I grew up in.
But by the end of my first year, my fascination with the city had more to do with rock n’ roll, amazing/creative people, and the easy access to Mt. Hood, the Columbia Gorge, and the Oregon Coast.
Since those early days, I have gotten to know the city better than the town I grew up in. My friends don’t just live here, they own the business that make it great here. Portland is home, because we’re crafting it into what we want it to be.
